Grok Bot + ClickUp
How to connect Grok Bot to ClickUp with a Bot-owned account, the routines that work, the one thing to put behind approval, and our verdict.
Short answerWorks well as a Bot request queue: humans drop tasks in a list, the Bot works them and comments.
How a Bot connects
ClickUp API token from the Bot's user, or the ClickUp connector. Space/list permissions.
The Bot's identity
ClickUp member for the Bot, guest where possible, on named spaces. Don't reuse a human's login. If you did, see shared computer cleanup.
Routines we've run
- Daily — tasks past due date; nudges
- On new task in the 'Bot requests' list — pick up, work, report back in a comment
- Weekly — time-in-status report for a list
Each routine follows the four-part shape: when it runs, what it reads (bounded), what it produces, when it stops. See routines best practices.
The thing to gate
Bulk status changes and deletes. Remove delete from the role.
Verdict
Works well as a Bot request queue: humans drop tasks in a list, the Bot works them and comments.
Setup notes
- Test every routine supervised until it's produced the right output three times.
- Add the routine's completion line to your heartbeat log so silent failures show up.
- Put the ClickUp token in the Bot's connector settings or knowledge file, never in a chat message.
